Risk Warnings
Investing in crowdfunding projects, including via the Digilo platform, involves risk. Before making an investment, we encourage you to carefully review the risks outlined below and assess whether such investments are appropriate for your knowledge, experience, financial situation, and risk tolerance.
By making an investment in any crowdfunding project, the investor assumes the risks associated with that investment, including the risk of partially or fully losing the invested funds. Investments in crowdfunding projects are not deposit products and are not subject to deposit guarantee schemes or investor compensation schemes established under European Union legislation. There is no guarantee that the investment will generate a profit, and there is a possibility that the investor will receive no return at all. The investor may not be able to sell the investment at the desired time or at all, and even if disposal of the investment is possible, it may be carried out at a loss. Investors are advised not to make investments that exceed their financial capacity and to invest only funds whose loss would not affect their financial stability.
1. General investment risk
Investing via a crowdfunding platform involves the risk of losing part or all of the invested amount. There is no guarantee that the project owner will be able to fulfil their obligations to investors in a timely manner and in full.
Past performance or information about similar projects does not guarantee future results.
2. Borrower (project owner) credit risk
The project owner may encounter financial difficulties, including cash flow problems, business failure, insolvency, or liquidation.
In such cases, repayment of the loan may be delayed or may not occur at all.
3. Collateral risk
Although projects on the platform may be secured (for example, by a mortgage over real estate), the existence of collateral does not guarantee recovery of the investment.
The following risks exist:
(1) the value of the collateral may decrease,
(2) enforcement of the collateral may be time-consuming,
(3) proceeds from the enforcement of the collateral may be insufficient to cover the full principal amount, interest, and costs.
4. Liquidity risk
Investments in crowdfunding projects may be illiquid. This means that the investor may not be able to freely or immediately sell their investment and/or early sale or termination of the loan may not be possible.
The message board available on the platform (if used) is not a secondary market, and there is no guarantee that a buyer for the investment will be found.
5. Platform operation and operational risks
The operation of the platform may be affected by technical disruptions, IT system outages, failures of third-party service providers, or cybersecurity incidents.
Although the platform implements appropriate security and control measures, the occurrence of such risks may affect service availability or the execution of transactions.
6. Payment services risk
The management of investors’ funds and the execution of payments are carried out via a licensed payment service provider. There is a risk that disruptions at the payment service provider may delay the execution of payments.
7. Regulatory and legal risk
Changes in laws and regulations or decisions by supervisory authorities may affect the operation of the platform, the terms of projects, or the rights of investors. Such changes may also affect the profitability or structure of investments.
8. Interest rate and inflation risk
Changes in market interest rates or an increase in inflation may reduce the real return on the investment. The actual profit of the investment may be lower than initially expected.
9. Special warning for inexperienced investors
If you do not have experience in financial investments, crowdfunding may not be suitable for you. Before making an investment, assess your knowledge, financial situation, and ability to bear potential losses.
Invest only funds whose loss would not affect your financial stability.
10. Limitation of liability
The platform does not provide investment advice, tax advice, or legal advice. All information provided on the platform is for informational purposes only and does not constitute an offer or a recommendation to make an investment.
The decision to make an investment is taken by the investor, who assumes the associated risks.
